How we build a watch
Mechanics you can trust for a lifetime
A good watch is a small machine of two hundred parts, and every one of them matters. Here is what we insist on before a timepiece carries our name.
Materials that last
316L surgical steel and grade-5 titanium cases, box-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and hand-stitched leather or a solid-link bracelet. Built to shrug off decades of daily wear.
Insured worldwide delivery
Every timepiece ships fully insured and tracked, cushioned in a hardwood presentation box with the movement papers, warranty card, and a spare strap-change tool.
Five-year warranty
A five-year international movement warranty, and an in-house service department for the life of the watch. A mechanical movement should be cleaned and re-lubricated, not discarded.
The workshop
Two hundred parts, one steady hand
Every Halden movement is assembled at a single bench by one watchmaker, from mainspring to balance wheel. Jewels are pressed, the escapement is adjusted, and the whole calibre is regulated across five positions until it holds to a few seconds a day.
Only then is it cased, pressure-tested for water resistance, and worn on a wrist for a week before it can leave. It is slow, deliberate work — and it is the only way we know to build a watch that a grandchild will still wind.

Every watch we make is a self-winding mechanical automatic — no battery. Wear it daily and it stays wound from the motion of your wrist; leave it resting and a full wind gives roughly two days of power reserve.
